Best Locations For Summer Family Photos

Summer in the Pacific Northwest is a short but absolutely gorgeous season. I have lived here all my life and I would not want to be anywhere else than the PNW in the summertime. Hence, you’ll learn why this is one of the best times of the year to have family photos taken.

As a Vancouver Washington family photographer, I will share some of my favorite places to take families for family photos in the summertime. What location do you think your family would love to be photographed at?

Summer family photos in the Columbia River Gorge

The Gorge is a gem to the PNW and a unique location to have your family photos. The wind, sun, and vistas are beautiful combination that creates magical family photos. Also, it is where I like to take my own my family when we get our photos done.

Many of these locations are approximately an hour or so from Portland Oregon and the drive is scenic. Thus, the entire experience from the drive to your photoshoot is epic! You cannot go wrong choosing any of these locations.

My favorite locations in the Gorge for summer family photos are: Rooster Rock, Government Cove, Beacon rock, and Rowena Crest.

Summer family photos at the Oregon Coast

We have incredibly beautiful beaches in the Pacific Northwest and the Oregon Coast never disappoints! Haystack rock lounging in the pacific ocean against a bright beautiful sunset, this stretch of the Oregon Coast is phenomenal! Moreover, the water crashing against the rust colored rocks along Cape Kiwanda shoreline gives an incredible yet laid back vibe to your family photos.

Imagine taking a weekend to enjoy family time and a photo shoot at Cannon Beach or Cape Kiwanda. It will be a wonderful time making family memories.

My favorite beaches to recommend for family photos are Cannon Beach, Oregon and Cape Kiwanda, Oregon.
