Downtown Vancouver Washington is a fun, funky part of town that has grown so much into a beautiful urban setting. As a Vancouver Washington family photographer, I love offering this location to families for city family photo shoots.
Families that love this location enjoy the city, colorful murals, and the buildings that surround them in their photos. I think this location is a great opportunity for an urban vibe that doesn’t involve going into Portland Oregon, which can sometimes come with loads of traffic and difficult parking.
Discover why this should be on your list for your next location for family photos.
The Vancouver Waterfront, coffee shops, museums, bus stops, historic buildings, parks, and colorful murals offer great backdrops to family photos.
This family started off at Ester Short park then had a leisurely walk over to the bus stop. This was where there was unique sculptures and a huge colorful mural.
You may have missed this unique location for family photos. However, I am always looking for opportunities to photograph families in fun places. When you hire a family photographer, ask them what locations they recommend based upon your preferences. I offer many locations to families based upon their preferences.
My goal is to make every photo shoot fun and laid back. Thus, family photos take about an hour or less and I focus on getting genuine interactions with your family.
Moreover, kids are encouraged to have fun, laugh, and play. Parents can relax knowing that I do not have any expectations from your kids, we just go with the flow. Surprisingly, it works well and not against you when you let go a little and just be yourselves.
I recommend Esther Short Park area, the waterfront, the Academy or Fort Vancouver Historic site. These locations are beautiful urban locations that have a lot of variations from old and modern buildings to trees in parks and gardens.
There are many great places to take kids, young and older, during or after your photos. It is fun to have family photos and then go get ice cream or grab some hot chocolate afterwards. Check out this behind the scenes blog of a family that was photographed at the Academy with hot chocolate to wrap up their session. It was so much fun and their kids were so excited to grab some hot chocolate after their shoot!
