Do you need Valentines Day ideas for your kids? It’s just around the corner and if you are anything like me, you might need some last minute things you can do for them.
Moms are always looking for ways to make our kids feel special and loved, however, sometimes we need to do activities that are easy for you to pull off on a work night, like this year, as it falls on a Tuesday.
So, here are three simple things you can do to make your kids feel extra special on Valentine’s Day while also keeping things light, fun, and will make you look supermom (because you are).
Pancakes just make mornings a little more sweet. Surprise your kids with a breakfast that they weren’t expecting.
Create heart-shaped pancakes, waffles, or even eggs, and watch in amazement as your kids’ eyes light up with excitement. Serve the breakfast with a side of fresh fruit or add some fresh whip with tiny chocolate chips on top!
I remember my mom always making me something to eat in the morning when I was in high school, I used to think she was force feeding me but now, as a mother myself, I have the fondest memories of her small gestures when I was young. I wish she would “force feed me” now before head off to work. Ha!
Even if I was acting like a typical teen, I really did love that she was taking care of me. I promise, even your tweens and teens will love this.
Valentine’s Day is all about expressing love and affection, and what better way to do that than by writing a love letter to your child. Just something simple and sweet is all you need with their favorite candies.
You could take some time to sit down and write out all of the things you love about your child, their strengths, and what makes them unique. If you have the time for that and the brain power, go for it!
But, you could also be like me and just have about 5 minutes to pull this entire valentines day off quickly and write a simple “I love you” and “have a great day!”
Whether you have more time or not, the simple act of creating a love letter will be remembered.
Let them know how much they mean to you and how grateful you are to have them in your life.
Valentine’s Day is a great excuse to have some fun and spend time together as a family. Plan a special activity that your kids will love, such as a movie night, a game night, or a trip to the park.
But let’s be real, as moms, we also need a little break. So, make sure to plan in a nap or a quiet moment for yourself too!
Take some time to bond and create memories together, and let your kids know how much they are loved and appreciated. Most importantly, don’t forget to catch up on some much-needed rest!
Once your kiddos are tired from your outing, lay them down for a nap or turn on their favorite movie. Then, plop yourself right onto that comfy couch and take a load off!
Ok, I hear you. Most of these ideas are fabulous for toddlers and tweens. However, for your older kiddos, you can do it a little different.
I love doing gift cards via text or grab them a gift card for their favorite coffee shop or restaurant. You can never go wrong with an Amazon gift card.
What I enjoy most about gifting these to older kids, is that its so easy! Simply text them the card from your phone to theirs and then you’re done!
In conclusion, making your kids feel special on Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive.
The simple acts of creating a heart-filled breakfast, writing love letters, and planning a fun activity can all contribute to making this day extra special for your kids.
