A twin newborn session is a must if you are expecting twins or recently had twins. You will want to photograph these special moments while they are newborns because you’ve waited so long to see their tiny toes, sweet smiles, and hear their cries.
It is one of the most wonderful, chaotic, and loving times in your life. Let me help you get these moments photographed and printed so you can treasure them for a lifetime.
On this blog, you will learn what to expect for a twin newborn session as your lifestyle newborn photographer.
Packing up all the things you need for one newborn is a lot but two is even more! I did not have twins but I have many friends that do. I was always in awe of how they got anything done with two little ones needing feedings, diaper changes, and snuggled. You are superwoman!
The last thing you will want to do is pack up your bags to head to a studio right? How wonderful it is to have your newborn photographer come to you instead. You can get ready and relax in the comfort of your own home while you have your newborn photoshoot.
Please leave the cleaning for another time-like when they are five years old. 😆
Let’s get real, kids bring so much joy into our lives and things! Your home will likely have a lot of clutter or things out as you care for these new tiny humans. It’s exhausting. I want you to know that is ok. Real life happening during your photoshoot is expected and I love it.
Honesty, it’s usually when some of the best photos are created, when you are just being a mom to your beautiful babies. It is absolutely amazing to watch.
A quick and simple pick up is more than enough. Make your bed, declutter the night stands, and fluff some pillows on your couch. Viola! You’re ready!
As a natural light photographer, I use the beautiful light that pours into your home via all of your windows. Thus, mid-morning, typically around 10 am is the best time. I have photographed many newborns in all different kinds of homes and all I really need is one great window for a source of light. That time of day has worked well every time.
I typically find that your master bedroom, nursery, living area, and kitchen work the best. In addition, sometimes a guest room may offer better light than your master bedroom.
The most important aspect in photographing in your home is finding the best light. When I arrive, after I wash my hands, I have you give me a quick tour of your home and we will quickly discuss what rooms are best.
You just had babies, please be comfortable. Also, if you are nursing, wear something that is easy to nurse your babies in. Trust me, you will look beautiful in jeans and a cute top or a maxi dress from amazon.
Don’t overthink it and check out my helpful blog on what to wear for newborn photos.
This leaves time for diaper changes, feedings, blow outs, and all of the things that come with newborn life. The time passes quickly and it also allows time to enjoy this process. In addition, I do not want you or your partner to feel rushed or stressed in any way.
This is your special time. I am here to make it a seamless and enjoyable day.
Your babies will not be posed on bean bags, buckets, or folded into any strange position. They can be held the entire time if they need to be. Moreover, we don’t have to wait a long time for them to get sleepy or drowsy. I love it when they are asleep or alert. Whatever their little hearts desire that is what we roll with.
Last, because of this, your babies do not have to be under 2 weeks old. I have photographed babies up to 3 months old.
Allow yourself to settle in at home, take in a few days or weeks if you wish with them. Then, have your twin newborn session when you are ready.
Having children is a momentous life event with a lot of adapting. I strive to make this day a wonderful and relaxed event that you will look back on with fond memories.

Nothing stiff or fake-all real interactions with your family captured and ready for you to frame on your walls to cherish.
