In home family photos are a unique and special way to have your family photographed. It is a location I always recommend in my list of favorite places for your photo shoot. As Vancouver Washington family photographer, families ask me all the time about where they should have their family photos.
On this blog, you will discover why you should consider your home for your next families photo shoot.
There’s no location more special than your home for your photo shoot. Whether you have lived in your home for years or just moved into your new home, it is where you build lifelong memories with your children, parents, friends, and extended family.
Moreover, no ones home is just like yours and as the years continue you will want to remember a few things. Such as, how your children’s rooms are decorated and what things they loved at those ages. In addition, how your home felt when its filled with your kids running through the hallway, playing with their favorite toys, and the joyful feeling of you all snuggling on your couch.
Although your decor style of your home may change, the bones will always be the same. A home filled with love.
Imagine getting ready for your family photos and you don’t even have to leave your home! No getting in car seats, commuting, and grabbing all of the things you need to bring for your kids. All you have to do is get ready at home. Plus, the entire photo shoot is about an hour so it’s easy for everyone to have a good time while getting photos done. Even dad! 😉
Moreover, your home does not have to be spotless! I really love seeing homes that are gently picked up and show that you live there, it’s genuine and you will love looking back at those real moments. Check out this blog on indoor family photo ideas and see how fun this families shoot was. They had just moved into their home! There were boxes everywhere and it was fun to see this family settle into their new home together.
Although I always have success with young kids for sunset family photos, I do completely understand why moms get stressed about photos close to or at bedtime. Sometimes, that just is not an option for your family. I get that.
All of my in home family photos take place mid morning which makes this a very kid friendly time of day for family photos. If your littles are still nappers, they can just lie down right after photos.
As a pacific northwest photographer, I have to consider the weather all the time for outdoor family photos. Although, I rarely have to reschedule outdoor photo shoots, it does happen. The rain definitely is a factor when it comes to outdoor family photos.
However, your in home family photos will take place on the day scheduled with out the worry of a possible reschedule due to rain. If the weather calls for rain the day of your photos, its doesn’t matter because we are indoors!
I would be thrilled to serve your family and help you create joyful photos of your family in your home. Contact me and let’s chat!
You are rarely in front of the camera and you want someone to take the lead and create beautiful images of you and your family. Moreover, a seamless process that you fit easily into your busy life!
I want you to feel like your session with me is like having a friend you can now trust with your family photos. No posing, nothing awkward, just you + your family being yourselves.
I can’t wait to hear from you!
