You wanna know what is pretty cool about indoor family photos? You don’t have to worry about the weather! As a Vancouver Washington photographer I have to keep a close watch on the weather, even in the summer months, for all of my outdoor photo shoots. That is the number one reason you will love indoor family photos is that you do not have to cross your fingers for beautiful weather. On this blog, you will get to see fun indoor family photo ideas that will inspire you to book your next photo shoot in the comfort of your own home.
My first idea for indoor family photos is to plan an activity. It can as simple as planning a dance party in your living room like this family did or baking chocolate chip cookies in your kitchen. Although it won’t be the entire focus of the indoor photo shoot, it will give your family something to do to break the ice and not feel like, “what do we do now?” With some gentle guidance from me, I will help your family enjoy the experience and not feel awkward while you are being photographed.
So, you have your home spotless right before I show up, NOT! Would you believe that this family actually just moved in to their home when I photographed them? Please keep your home authentic to what it really looks like. After all, you do actually live there and I love when it looks like that, not like you are about to sell it and you staged it for your real estate photographer. Your kitchen, living room, master bedroom, and front door area will be utilized. Don’d be afraid to use a room just because you feel like it’s too messy. It’s probably not and will make your photos unique.
What a way to make your fur baby feel special! Invite them to the family photo shoot with out the stress of them being on a leash or waiting in the car while your family finishes their photo shoot. Check out my blog for tips on how to incorporate your dog into family photos.
The best location to feel at ease is in your own home. Although you’ll want to be cozy, there are some rules that still apply when choosing your wardrobe for indoor family photos. If you need some wardrobe inspiration I’ve got you! Bonus: keep your shoes and socks off! It’s laid back and I love the look of being relaxed.
