Whether it’s your first pregnancy or you have multiple children, all pregnancies are special and important to document. But when exactly is the best time to book a session with a maternity photographer? It can feel like you have so much time when you are in the early days of pregnancy but it does go quickly, I almost missed my opportunity to have my done because I was induced two weeks early. I was putting it off because I didn’t feel like I looked beautiful, I felt downright done and tired. I learned from my pregnancy that I would have felt much better about booking a maternity photographer if I had done it a little earlier in my pregnancy. We booked a maternity photographer in Vancouver Washington and I absolutely love our photos. I am so thankful I got them before my son was born. It’s funny how you have a different perspective when you aren’t pregnant anymore. I look at those photos fondly and what body did, it is really incredible.
The best time to book your maternity session is between 28-35 weeks. I find that after 35 weeks you are really feeling done and just tired. If you are anything like me, I just wanted to sit and put my feet up late into my pregnancy. It really just depends on how you feel and what location you are wanting for your shoot. We are incredibly lucky here in Vancouver Washington, there are many beautiful outdoor locations to chose from for maternity photography. Moreover, the pacific northwest also offers some breath taking backdrops for maternity photo sessions! The family featured in this blog had their maternity photography session at the Oregon Coast, mom-to-be was about to enter her third trimester.
