Newborn photography in Vancouver Washington can resume soon, there are important steps I will be taking to ensure the safety and success of upcoming newborn sessions. I am incredibly thankful to be a lifestyle newborn photographer at this time because I don’t have to photograph newborns/babies right after their birth, therefore rescheduling newborn photography sessions has been easier for families as they don’t have to stress about not getting their photos done right away. Also, I am not posing babies so there is limited touching involved, and many more benefits I will share here.

The benefits of lifestyle newborn photography are that you are in the comfort of your own home, no posing baby, limited to no touching, no props, baby can be awake or asleep the entire time, no studio or lights just natural light, and baby doesn’t have to be photographed right after their birth. All of these benefits allow a safe and simple approach to having newborn photography.

Newborn Photography In The Comfort of Your Home

A newborn photography experience in your home is easy and simple. No need to travel to a studio, pack all of your things for baby and older siblings, have a stressful commute in the car, no car seats to deal with, and worrying if you forgot anything before your session. Hiring a lifestyle newborn photographer allows parents and kids to just be as they are in the comfort of their home and let the photographer come to you, which can make the experience safe and stress free.

No Posing Baby

There is limited touching/posing in my style of newborn photography. In fact, your baby can be held the entire time if they want to be and they can also be awake or asleep. I really let your baby lead the session so that they are comfortable. This allows all family members to relax and not feel stress about getting baby back to sleep for posing that would require them to be full and tired. Your baby can just be content doing what they want, they will unfold into their favorite position on moms chest, in dads arms, in their crib, or snuggled up with older siblings on the couch.

No Props

Lifestyle newborn photography is about capturing the interactions with family members and letting baby be comfortable in whatever position they want. Whether your baby is most comfortable with mom at the moment or maybe in dads arms that is where baby can stay. Most of a newborn session can take place in one or two rooms. Usually in your babies nursery you worked so hard on or in master bedroom. As long as there is one good light source, like a large window, that is really all it takes to have a successful lifestyle newborn photography session.

Safety Protocol During Covid for Newborn Photography

Not a lot changes for my newborn photography but there will be a few new protocols I will be following. I always wash my hands when arrive to your home, that will stay the same. I will wear a mask the entire time I am in your home photographing your family and newborn. I will not be touching any family members or baby at all, I may ask more of mom and dad with moving baby in a certain direction for example but otherwise not much will change with how baby will be interacted with. I will reschedule if I have had any symptoms and ask that your family does the same.
